What is Massage Therapy?
Massage Therapy is a system of structured palpation or movement of the soft tissue of the body. The massage system may include, but is not limited to, such techniques as, stroking, kneading, gliding, percussion, friction, vibration, compression, passive or active stretching within the normal anatomical range of movement. The purpose of the practice of massage is to enhance the general health and well-being of the recipient. Massage does not include the diagnosis of a specific pathology, the prescription of drugs or controlled substances, spinal manipulation or those acts of physical therapy that are outside the scope of massage therapy.
Massage Therapy is one of the best ways to help work with the body to improve and heal. From sore muscles developed from every day work to traumatized tissue from an injury, massage therapy can produce surprisingly positive results. There are many different approaches to maintain our body wellness. Massage Therapy is one of those options that can be added to your overall health plan . As a Massage Therapist, I hope to be able to work with you to achieve your physical goals. Whether you are looking to easily comb your hair without shoulder strain, alleviate pain from a morning workout, or seeking to find peace and relaxation throughout the body, all can be goals when working with a licensed massage therapist.
